Head Judge and President of the Institute of Highway Engineers

The current President of the Institute of Highway Engineers, Tony is an Incorporated Engineer with over 28 years highways experience within both the public and private sectors, and has been a Fellow of the Institute since 1998. He mentors younger members of the profession and runs training courses to promote professional development and help address the industry skills shortage.

In addition to his role at IHE Tony is a Director of Local Transport Projects, a traffic / highway engineering and transport planning practice based in Beverley. He has represented the industry on numerous national steering groups and has project managed award winning urban traffic engineering projects. Tony has an MSc in European Traffic & Transportation and has studied road safety, cycling and public realm initiatives throughout Europe.
He is a keen Hull City AFC fan and enjoys playing football, cricket and can often be found cycling on the muddy trails within the East Riding. He also runs his son’s football team.
